Their work reports on an enabling approach for performing ultrahigh resolution OCT imaging using a portable, turn-key, super-continuum light source, with an SNR similar to an ultrahigh-resolution OCT system using a bench-top femtoscond Ti:Sapphire laser.

Jiefeng Xi, among other 4 Hopkins graduate students, was recently named to the Siebel Scholars Class 2014 in Bioengineering. The Siebel Scholars program was founded in 2000 to recognize the most talented students at the world's leading graduate schools of business, computer science, and bioengineering. Each year, 85 students are selected from prominent graduate schools worldwide based on merit and are provided $35,000 to each student for use in his or her final year of graduate studies.

One postdoctoral fellow position is available in the area of biophotonics imaging. Research will focus on development of OCT technologies. Hands-on experience in experimental fiber-optics or optical communications, and general optics is required. Experience with Biomedical Optics, fiber lasers, ultrafast lasers, and electronics is a plus.

Desired candidate should have a PhD in physics, optics or optical engineering, electrical engineering, precision instrumentation, biomedical engineering or other closely related fields.
